Structural Steel Detailing involves drafting methods utilised to aid in the fabrication of both hot and cold-rolled steel sections. In close collaboration with structural engineers and architects, a steel detailer meticulously creates a comprehensive 3D CAD model and a set of detailed 2D fabrication drawings. These vital resources form the foundation for the successful manufacturing of the steelwork.
At Twenty20 Engineering, we utilise Tekla Structures to create precise CAD models and drawings. These are carefully coordinated and integrated into a Building Information Modelling (BIM) System. This strategic approach enables us to foster effective collaboration with all project stakeholders, ensuring a smooth and efficient construction process.
Twenty20 Engineering employs Tekla Structures, an advanced software solution, to produce precise 3D CAD models along with corresponding GA (General Assembly) and fabrication drawings for a wide range of projects. Our structural steel detailing services involve the creation of drawings that serve as essential references for both customers and fabricators, guaranteeing the correct manufacturing of steel members. With our expertise in using Tekla Structures, we can provide you with top-quality drawings that meet the exact requirements of your construction project.
The drawings act as comprehensive drawings, outlining critical parameters such as section size, length, and the precise positioning of holes. These drawings are crucial for steel erectors installing the steel components on the customer's project. Due to the unique nature of each project, structural steel detailing is often a one-off process, requiring meticulous attention to detail for accurate steel component manufacturing and seamless on-site assembly.
At Twenty20 Engineering, Tekla Structures is our go-to software for exceptional steel detailing. We actively collaborate with fabricators, architects, structural engineers, and steel erectors throughout the project, ensuring seamless communication and a successful outcome.
We will develop the steelwork 3D model from the architect's drawings and size the steel sections in accordance with the structural engineers' report.
Subsequently, we will create a GA (General Assembly) drawing for approval. Following GA drawing approval, we collaborate closely with project stakeholders to finalise connection details and produce precise fabrication drawings. We can incorporate the 3D Model into a BIM Model (Building Information Modelling) to enhance coordination among stakeholders, ensuring a smoother project process and successful outcome.
